Jakarta. from the Indonesian online news site detik.com. One of the KPK fugitives named Samin Tan has been arrested. The suspect in a bribery case against the former Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR Eni Maulani Saragih was arrested in Jakarta.

"The KPK investigating team succeeded in arresting the DPO KPK on behalf of SMT (Samin Tan) in the Jakarta area," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri to reporters, Wednesday (5/4/2021).

Samin arrived at the KPK building, South Jakarta, at 17.00 WIB. Samin was brought in handcuffed.

No words were issued by Samin. He was immediately brought into the KPK building.

"Currently, the suspect has been brought to the Red and White KPK building and will be examined. We will inform you of the progress," he added.

Samin Tan was previously designated as a fugitive on May 6, 2020. He is the owner of the PT BLEM company, which was named a suspect in the alleged bribery case for the termination of the coal mining exploitation work agreement (PKP2B) PT Asmin Koalindo Tuhup at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) ) since February 1, 2019.

As for the alleged bribery case between Samin Tan and Eni, it was related to problems experienced by Samin's company, PT Asmin Kolaindo Tuhup (AKT). The problem in question is related to the coal mining exploitation work agreement (PKP2B) generation III in Central Kalimantan between PT AKT and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

PT AKT's PKP2B was previously terminated by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, which was then led by Ignasius Jonan. The termination was carried out because PT AKT was deemed to have committed a serious breach of contract. Regarding the termination, a legal process took place up to the cassation level at the Supreme Court (MA), which resulted in the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources' decision on terminating PT AKT's PKP2B to remain valid.

In the process of filing an appeal against the PTUN decision regarding the termination, Eni promised to help Samin Tan in dealing with the termination decision by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The Rp. 5 billion was allegedly handed over so that Eni would help take care of this matter. From there, Eni was said to have threatened to humiliate Jonan at a meeting at the DPR.

However, as is well known, in the end, the government still won until the decision on the termination of the cooperation with PT AKT was legally binding through the cassation decision at the Supreme Court.
